On November 16, 2018 I participated in a Czech language seminar on Note-taking in Consecutive Interpreting organised by the Czech Union of Interpreters and Translators JTP upon invitation of the lecturer, Jana Doubalova. It was a three-hour technical seminar for students, interpreters and members of the public, given in Czech language. I am a native English speaker with almost no Czech language comprehension skills. Ms Katerina Vorlicka, alongside another young colleague of hers, were simultaneously interpreting for me (whispering interpreting) during the whole seminar. I highly appreciated her interpreting services, which allowed me to perfectly understand the seminar with all its technical aspects and nuances. Based on my own technical understanding and interest in the art of note-taking (the seminar’s subject), the interpreting was accurate, pleasant to receive and easy to follow.
