I am a professional translator, interpreter, copywriter and language teacher. I translate from English into Czech as well as from Czech and Slovak into English. Over the past 18 years, I have built up a reputation for delivering top quality services to hundreds of demanding clients in the UK, the Czech Republic and elsewhere. These include elite law firms, multi-award-winning manufacturers, as well as government agencies and public administration bodies.
Here is what I can do for you:
- Legal translations – Extensive experience with the Czech and UK company law, commercial law, law of obligations, property law, international private law and labour law. I will ensure that the translation is faithful and legal terminology is rendered into the precise equivalent in the target language.
- Certified translations – Appointed and regulated by the Ministry of Justice of the Czech Republic, I assist individuals and companies with their Czech student and work visa applications, Czech citizenship applications and other family and business matters by providing sworn certified translations recognized by the Embassy of the Czech Republic in London and the Consulate General in Manchester (as well as any other Czech authority anywhere in the world). Most commonly translated documents include birth certificates, marriage certificates, death certificates, ACRO certificates, naturalisation certificates, divorce orders, childcare orders, GP letters, bank statements, sponsorship letters, powers of attorney, Companies House documents, diplomas and other educational documents. My translations bear the official circular seal of office with the Czech emblem, so they do not need to be verified by the Consular Section.
- Legalisation services – Public documents such as birth certificates and naturalisation certificates normally need to be legalized with apostilles. In simplified terms, an apostille is a sticker attached to the back of a document that authenticates the document is genuine. In the UK, apostilles are issued by the FCDO. As long as your document meets the FCDO’s criteria, I can have it legalised for you in as little as 1 working day.
- Interpreting – Simultaneous, consecutive and whispered interpreting (chuchotage) at conferences, trade fairs, seminars, exhibitions, business meetings. I offer F2F and online interpreting.
- Certified interpreter services – I can accompany you wherever you need to go, ensuring you understand and are understood. I can also liaise on your behalf with solicitors, notaries, estate agents, insurance companies and others. F2F and online.
- Website localization and marketing translations (transcreations) – I can bridge various cultural differences and help you address your target audience with an appropriate tone of voice or a grain of humour to enhance your message. Every translation is an investment. Make sure you get your ROI.
- Copywriting – I have a proven record of successfully creating content that informs, entertains and sells. I write in Czech and English.
- English language lessons – One-to-one and group lessons for companies, individuals, government agencies and public administration bodies. I teach general as well as business and legal English.
- Czech language lessons – Expert tuition for individuals, businesses, and public sector organisations. Whether rediscovering your Czech roots or embracing a new challenge, learn a language that few people speak—and even fewer master.
- Language coaching – I support and empower you on your self-led English learning journey. No textbooks, no classroom, no set curriculum.
- Consulting services – Is your company struggling with inconsistent quality of translations or marketing copies? Are you looking to troubleshoot or streamline your translation and interpreting service provision? Are you starting out as a translator, but finding it difficult to get your career off the ground? Have you been learning English for years with little success? Let’s find out how I can help you.
I have been translating, teaching English and Czech, interpreting and creating content since 2007. In 2020, I started providing consulting services – to language service providers, public administration bodies and freelancers.
I currently teach translation at the University of Westminster. As a Visiting Lecturer at the Department of Modern and Applied Languages of the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences, I run a translation workshop for applicants seeking to obtain a Diploma in Translation.
