My name is Mónica and I am a native Spanish speaker living in Prague for over 12 years. Since 2008, I have been teaching Spanish as a foreign language — now focusing on one-on-one online lessons for adults, mostly beginners and intermediate speakers via Zoom or Skype.
At the moment, I offer:
- online lessons of general Spanish (for beginners and intermediate students), and Spanish conversation (for intermediate and advanced students)
- language coaching for self-taught students of Spanish looking for a help (all levels) and new learning approaches (beginners and intermediate students)
- coaching on using Spanish language for both students and Spanish teachers
I have a university degree in Applied linguistics for teaching Spanish as a foreign language (University of Jaén, Spain) as well as in the Philology of Romance languages (University of Oviedo, Spain; University of Basel, Switzerland). In 2005, I received the prestigious Award for the best scientific work in Spain in the national Arquídemes contest.
As an online Spanish teacher and coach, I have students all from all over the world. My pricing differs per case and the frequency of our lessons — single lessons from €25 per hour, monthly plans from €55 per month, and consulting from €40 per hour. I would be happy to give you a more specific offer once I know your needs and expectations.

Professional experience
- Teacher of Spanish for foreigners, since 2008 — I have worked for various language schools in Prague (EDO-Inpex, United Studies, Training Plus, etc.) and have taught Spanish in renowned companies such as Siemens and Czech Invest. I have taught individuals of all nationalities, from beginners to proficient speakers. Since 2012, I have been teaching Spanish online (via Skype or Zoom) and gained considerable expertise in doing so.
- Inspector of the Spanish language tests for CERMAT — From 2011 to 2013, I was inspecting official language tests for the Czech national Center for Education Results.
- Researcher with prof. Dr. Beatrice Schmid for the Spanish-Arabic Aljamiado dialect dictionary (2005-2006)
- Translator of Czech to Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese (2008-2009)
- Teacher of Italian, French, and Portuguese for beginners (2010-2016)
